The Gar-Field High School Band Boosters is not a program or department of Prince William County Public Schools, but an independent organization which has obtained the approval of PWCS to support its schools, students, teams, programs, and extracurricular activities.
Marching Band Fees
2026-2027 Uniform Purchase and Care

Winds and Percussion - $150 (NEW marchers ONLY)
$25 for returning GFHS marchers
Replacement items will be handled on an individual basis.
Color Guard - $130
This is an "everything included" amount with the exception of instrument rental for those using school-owned instruments .
The Uniform Purchase and Care cost for marching band include uniform rental and maintenance fees, Warm up attire, 2 pairs of gloves, shoes, and drill supplies,
The costs for Instrument Rental (details below) are not included in the band member fee.
**Any band family in need of an amended payment schedule or payment assistance should contact the Director of Bands to arrange a confidential meeting to discuss available options. This meeting should be arranged by the parent or guardian. Student attendance at this meeting is not required.
Band Uniform Cleaning and Maintenance Fee
This fee is already included in the Uniform Purchase and Care described above and covers regular dry cleaning expenses as well as expenses for alterations and other required uniform maintenance. Damage to the uniform will be at the students expense.
Band Gloves
Black “grip” gloves with rubberized dots on palm for secure grip of instrument. All winds will purchase 2 pairs of gloves. Additional gloves to replace those lost or soiled beyond use will be the responsibility of the student.
Color Guard Gloves
Black “grip” and padded gloves for secure grip of instrument and comfort. All Guard students will purchase 1 pair of gloves. Additional gloves to replace those lost or soiled beyond use will be the responsibility of the student.
Flip Folio
Required for marching band music in the stands. All wind instrument players will also purchase a lyre (music folio holder) that attaches securely to their personal instrument for use in the stands.
Band and Color Guard Shoes
Approved black marching band shoes specifically designed for marching performance. Students will be fitted for the correct size during band camp. The cost of shoes is included in the Uniform Purchase and Care cost. Some, but not all, returning members will need to replace shoes.
